Notorious Greens
Whatever it takes
The following is a list of members of the Greens party around the world who have attained notoriety - often in the negative sense - whilst members or senior officials. The actions noted are usually carried out by them, or under their leadership and direction. It can also apply to former members of the Greens who have likewise become notorious for one reason or another.

Identifying individuals who have strayed from Greens principles in the modern era is not such a difficult task. However, those that attain notoriety, often in pursuit of Greens principles, are also less than invisible. As a long-time member of the Greens, the present writer is also a critical thinker who feels it is important to call out aberrations and consider the implications and possible consequences. No person is perfect, just as no political party is perfect, or member therein.
List of candidates
* Petra de Sutter - a transgender woman (born male) and gynecologist who was leader of the Belgian Groen (Green) party and became a minister in government, before being made Rector of Ghent University in April 2025. De Sutter achieved notoriety in August 2026 when he dismissed Fellowship holder Nathan Cofnas who in July of that year publically exposed Cambridge University Professor of Sociology of Education, Jason Arday, as a plagiarist and academic fraud.
* Zack Polanski - Leader of the UK Greens, Polanski secured the Muslim vote for the February 2026 Gordon and Denton election, resulting in a win for the Greens candidate Hannah Spencer. In securing the Muslim vote, Muslims were directed by their leaders and Iman to vote Green, thereby subverting the democratic voting process and forcing many Muslims to vote as directed rather than as they desired. This was a disgraceful act on the part of Polanski and the UK Greens.
